Apply in writing or through electronic means in English or Hindi or in the official language of the area, to the Public Information Officer (PIO), specifying the particulars of the information sought for.
You don’t need to state reasons for which information is required. It’s your right and the application cannot be rejected on the ground of reasons.
Pay fees as may be prescribed (if not belonging to the below poverty line category).
Note: Information may be sought through e-mail only if the concerned public authority provides the facility. The act does not make it mandatory for the public authority to provide such a facility.
